Algeria’s president leaves German hospital

Tebboune will return home in coming days after being flown for COVID-19 treatment more than a month ago.

ALGIERS - Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has left a German hospital where he was flown for treatment more than a month ago, and he will return home "in the coming days," the presidency said on Monday.

Tebboune, 75, who has tested positive for COVID-19, will continue "the rest of the recovery period" in Germany, it said in a statement.

His last appearance dates back to October 15 during the visit of French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian to Algiers.

A week later, he was in self-isolation before being taken to Ain Naadja military hospital in Algiers, then to Germany.
