Imilchil marriage moussem to be help Sept. 19-21
IMILCHIL - The 2024 edition of the Marriage Moussem and the Festival of Peaks music will take place from September 19 to 21, in Imilchil and Bouzemou in the Midelt Province, announced the organisers.
The two cultural events, which are organised by the Akhiam Association in partnership with the territorial municipalities of Bouzmou and Imilchil and are held under the theme "Our intangible heritage, locomotive of local development", seek to promote the intangible cultural heritage of this region of the North African Kingdom, safeguard and perpetuate it, in addition to promoting the traditions and customs of Amazigh culture.
The popular event also aims to highlight the local musical heritage and allow the public to appreciate the popular art of the Grand Atlas region with a view to making it a lever for the promotion of tourism in the region, according to a press release from the organisers.
The program of the Moussem and the Festival includes artistic evenings hosted by several folk groups, a fair of handicraft and local products for the benefit of local cooperatives, as well as a 15 km road race around the two famous lakes of Isli and Tislit.
The Moussem will be marked in particular, as every edition, by the traditional collective wedding ceremony of couples from different tribes of the region.
The event also seeks to boost the region's economy, in the sense that it offers a platform for commercial exchanges between local tribes, and attracts a large number of Moroccan and foreign tourists eager to explore local traditions and attend festivities rich in Amazigh music, popular dances, festivals and colorful events.
