Moroccan, Mauritanian intelligence chiefs discuss bilateral cooperation

Hammouchi and Ould Sidi Leghweizi hold talks in Rabat on aspects and levels of bilateral cooperation in the security field and ways to examine the mechanisms likely to enhance and diversify this cooperation.

RABAT – Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance Abdellatif Hammouchi received Tuesday in Rabat Mauritania’s Director General of National Security Mesgharou Ould Sidi Leghweizi.

Hammouchi and Ould Sidi Leghweizi discussed aspects and levels of bilateral cooperation in the security field and ways to examine the mechanisms likely to enhance and diversify this cooperation in addition to the ability to combine and coordinate efforts to address security challenges in a common regional environment, said a statement from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

The two officials also underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation in terms of police training, the exchange of experience, expertise and good practices in the security field, in addition to the exchange of information making it possible to combat different threats and risks to the security of the two countries and the safety of their citizens, the statement added.
