Morocco’s Hammouchi in Riyadh to boost security ties with Saudi Arabia

Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance attends the World Defense Show in the Saudi capital.

RIYADH – Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance Abdellatif Hammouchi is in Saudi Arabia at the invitation the Head of the Saudi State Security Service Lieutenant General Abdel Aziz bin Muhammad Al-Huwairini.

Hammouchi's visit comes within the framework of Saudi Arabia's organization of the World Defense Show, which is being held February 4-8 in Riyadh.

The show showcases the oil-rich Kingdom’s commitment to becoming a global hub for the defense industry.

Hammouchi made a field visit to the various corridors of the global defense and security industries exhibition, and listened to the explanations of the exhibitors in the field of security and defense, in a way that serves the strengthening of global security and stability.

The head of Morocco’s security services held several bilateral meetings with senior officials in the Saudi security services, and discussed the level of cooperation between Rabat and Riyadh in the security field, as well as the mechanisms for developing and strengthening this cooperation in a manner consistent with distinguished and fraternal ties between the two kingdoms.

Hammouchi’s visit comes in a context in which security ties between the Morocco and Saudi Arabia are characterized by close cooperation, after the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance and the Deputy Head of the Saudi State Security Service concluded a cooperation agreement in the field of combating terrorism and its financing in 2023 in Rabat.
