Morocco’s King orders dispatch of emergency aid to Palestinians

King Mohammed VI gives his high instructions to dispatch foodstuffs, medical supplies and water to Palestinians.

RABAT – Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, has given His Very High Instructions for the dispatch of emergency humanitarian aid to the Palestinian populations, as indicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates on Monday.

This aid includes significant quantities of foodstuffs, medical supplies, and water, as specified in a statement released by the ministry.

The modalities of sending this emergency aid will be determined in coordination with the Egyptian and Palestinian authorities.

This Royal High Decision is part of the constant commitment of HM King Mohammed VI, to the Palestinian cause, concluded the statement.

Rafah is the main crossing in and out of Gaza that does not border Israel. Since Israel blockaded the enclave in retaliation for an attack by Hamas militants on Oct. 7, Rafah has become the focus of efforts to deliver aid.

Humanitarian aid deliveries through Rafah began on Saturday after wrangling over procedures for inspecting the aid and after bombardments on the Gaza side of the border had left relief materials stranded in Egypt.
