Morocco King thanks UK King and PM for earthquake relief, rescue efforts

King Mohammed VI highly praises the noble position of King Charles III and the united and generous initiative of the UK government following the participation of a British search and rescue team in the relief and rescue efforts after the September 8 devastating earthquake. 

LONDON - Morocco’s King Mohammed VI sent a message of gratitude to the United Kingdom’s King Charles III and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for the participation of a British search and rescue team in the relief and rescue efforts following the September 8 earthquake. 

In this message, the Sovereign expressed, in his own name and that of the Moroccan people, his warm thanks and his deep gratitude to King Charles III and Queen Camilla for their sincere feelings of compassion expressed following the painful earthquake which hit Morocco.

The King highly praised the noble position of King Charles III and the united and generous initiative of the United Kingdom government, relating to the mobilization of members of its international search and rescue team to help their Moroccan friends in the operations of relief and rescue in disaster areas, demonstrating great competence and effective professionalism.

The monarch reaffirmed his deep pride in the bonds of solid friendship and mutual esteem linking the two Sovereigns, in a personal capacity, and the two Royal Families, as well as the excellent secular relations, based on close cooperation and permanent solidarity uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Kingdom.
