Morocco police chief on working visit to Turkey

Hammouchi has undertaken a working visit to the Republic of Turkey on May 7 and 8, leading a large delegation.

ANKARA – Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi has undertaken a working visit to the Republic of Turkey on May 7 and 8, leading a large delegation.

This visit comes at the official invitation of the Director General of the Turkish National Police, Mahmut Demirtaş, to take part in the work of the 5th edition of the International Defence and Aeronautics Exhibition (SAHA 2026) which is currently being held in Istanbul, according to a statement from the DGSN-DGST.

Hammouchi held talks with the president of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization, Ibrahim Kalin, as well as with the vice-president of the Turkish National Strategic Defense Industries System (SSB), Hüseyin Avşar.

This visit offered an opportunity to exchange views with Turkish security officials on ways to strengthen bilateral security cooperation, to examine issues and files of common interest, and to learn about the latest technological and industrial innovations related to security equipment and materials.

It aimed to consolidate security cooperation with the relevant Turkish authorities, strengthen collaboration in the field of mutual technical assistance and develop the security partnership between the two countries, in line with the strategic nature of Moroccan-Turkish relations, the statement concluded.
