Morocco ranked first in North Africa for Economic Freedom
RABAT – Morocco has taken the lead as North Africa’s most economically free country, according to the 2025 Global Economic Freedom Index published by Nomad Capitalist, a US-based firm specializing in tax and citizenship consulting.
Globally, Morocco ranked 101st out of over 200 countries and 7th in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Experts view this ranking as a reflection of the reforms implemented by the Kingdom, driven by the royal vision to enhance private sector dynamism, improve purchasing power, diversify production bases, and streamline and digitize administrative and business registration procedures.
The index evaluates criteria such as fiscal sovereignty, asset protection, and personal freedom, making it a key reference for investors and individuals seeking countries with favorable legal and financial environments.
This ranking underscores Morocco’s position as a stable destination that balances economic openness with security and sovereignty, strengthening its regional and global attractiveness.
