RABAT - Morocco suspended all flights and passenger ship traffic to and from Spain over fears of the coronavirus outbreak, Morocco's state news agency said on Thursday.
Algeria and Morocco also agreed on the same day to suspend flights, according to an Algerian presidency statement.
Morocco also closed Friday its land borders with the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.
The situation in Spain has become critical, with nearly 3,000 cases of contamination and 100 deaths from the deadly COVID-19.
Morocco’s export trucks for agricultural products destined to Europe may continue to circulate on ships exclusively reserved for this activity.
