Morocco seizes almost 4 tonnes of cannabis

The Casablanca judicial police seize 3.9 tonnes of cannabis smuggled in a utility vehicle at one of the entrances of the economic capital.

CASABLANCA – Morocco’s judicial police seized Sunday 3.9 tonnes of cannabis in the economic capital city of Casablanca.

This anti-drug operation, which was coordinated with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), was carried out at one of the entrances to Casablanca during the identification and search of a utility vehicle.

The judicial investigation, carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, continues to identify and arrest all those involved in this criminal activity.

The seizure is part of ongoing efforts of the Moroccan police to crack down on drug trafficking in the North African Kingdom.
