UN hosts talks in Tripoli to resolve Libya's central bank crisis
TRIPOLI - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) held talks in Tripoli on Monday to address the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) crisis which has left it unable to conduct transactions for more than a week, a statement from UNSMIL said.
Representatives from Libya's House of Representatives, High Council of State and Presidential Council participated.
The discussions lasted from morning until late into the night, the statement said.
UNSMIL said that "significant understandings" were reached on resolving the CBL crisis.
The representatives agreed to submit a draft agreement to their respective chambers for review, with the goal of finalizing and signing the agreement on Tuesday.
