Israel calling up two reserve brigades to northern border

The Israeli military says the call will enable the continuation of combat against Hezbollah, the defence of Israel, and create the conditions to enable the residents of northern Israel to return to their homes.

JERUSALEM - Israel is calling up two additional reserve brigades to the northern border to carry out operational activities, the military said on Wednesday, after days of escalating air strikes that have hit Hezbollah targets in various areas of Lebanon.

"This will enable the continuation of combat against the Hezbollah terrorist organization, the defence of the State of Israel, and create the conditions to enable the residents of northern Israel to return to their homes," the military said in a statement.
