Is Israel moving towards a ceasefire deal in Lebanon?

TEL AVIV - Israel is moving towards a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon with the Hezbollah militant group, Axios reporter Barak Ravid posted on X on Sunday, citing a senior Israeli official.

A separate report from Israel's public broadcaster Kan, citing an Israeli official, said there was no green light given on an agreement in Lebanon, with issues still yet to be resolved.

Meanwhile, Lebanon on Monday condemned a recent attack on the United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL) base in the south of the country, in which four Italian peacekeepers were lightly injured.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib called on all sides to respect the safety of all the troops, speaking at a conference in Rome.
