UAE opens up to new Syrian leadership
CAIRO - United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call on Monday with newly appointed Syrian counterpart Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, where they discussed boosting bilateral ties, the state news agency WAM reported.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of preserving the unity, integrity and sovereignty of Syria.
He reaffirmed the UAE's unwavering position towards all endeavours aimed at ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive transitional phase that achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for stability and development, underscoring the UAE’s belief in the importance of restoring optimism among the Syrian population for a prosperous future.
