Syria's president to visit Turkey on Tuesday

Ankara says Sharaa will discuss the latest developments in Syria, as well as possible joint measures to rebuild the country's economy and achieve lasting stability and security.

ANKARA - Syria's newly appointed transitional president, Ahmad al-Sharaa, will visit Ankara on Tuesday at the invitation of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish Presidency said on Monday.

Erdogan and al-Sharaa will discuss the latest developments in Syria, as well as possible joint measures to rebuild the country's economy and achieve lasting stability and security, the presidency's communications director, Fahrettin Altun, said on X.

Altun added the two will also discuss the support Turkey could provide Syria's transitional government and its people on multilateral platforms.
