Royal Air Maroc, China Southern Airlines ink MoU to boost connections between Africa and China

The MoU responds to the growing demand for travel between the two regions and paves the way for expanded cooperation between the two airline companies.

RABAT - Morocco’s carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and China Southern Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding to improve air connectivity between China and Africa. 

The MoU responds to the growing demand for travel between the two regions and paves the way for expanded cooperation between the two airlines.

Under the agreement, RAM and China Southern Airlines will strengthen their interline cooperation and implement code sharing, facilitating connections for passengers. 

Travelers will benefit from more options to various Chinese and Asian destinations via  China Southern Airlines' network  and to several African cities through RAM 's network .

The two airline companies also plan to collaborate on passenger and cargo transportation , as well as other services related to the airline sector, in order to offer simplified and high-quality services.

Qu Guangji , Executive Vice President of China Southern Airlines, welcomed the agreement, stressing the two companies' commitment to using their strengths to provide a seamless and optimized travel experience for passengers.

Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, described this agreement as a major turning point in strengthening air relations between Africa and China. 

Addou highlighted the economic and tourism opportunities offered by this collaboration, particularly in attracting more Chinese tourists to Morocco .

Royal Air Maroc resumed on January 20 its direct connection between Casablanca and Beijing , operated at a rate of three flights per week.
