CASABLANCA - The solo exhibition of Morocco artist Abdelkader Laâraj "La passion des couleurs" kickstarted Tuesday at L'Atelier 21 art gallery in Casablanca.

Member of the iconic Casablanca School group,  Laâraj had the privilege of working alongside the great masters of this movement, such as Mohamed Melehi and Mohamed Chabâa, to whom he was an assistant and shared a deep friendship.

This close connection with these influential figures of the contemporary Moroccan art, has greatly shaped his journey, guiding him toward a unique artistic practice where geometric abstraction and figuration intersect.

The artist explores the sensuality of the female body, light, and color. The cellulose paint, which he handles with mastery, gives his works a unique depth, revealing subtle nuances that invite an intense visual and emotional experience.

His creations, enriched by his travels around the world, are a tribute to the richness of both traditional and modern art, merging graphic influences, imagined architectures, and decorative motifs.
