Marrakech launches "Islamic World Youth Charter" initiative
MARRAKECH - The training session on "Youth Legislation: Multiple Approaches" to promote legislative coherence across the Muslim world concluded October 24 in Moroccan ochre city of Marrakech.
Co-organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), the event brought together youth leaders and experts to discuss how to build legal frameworks that empower youth and ensure their voices are included in national legislation. The insights gained were intended to contribute to a declaration on youth, which will be submitted to the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers (ICYSM).
The session was organized as part of the events for the "Marrakech, Capital of Islamic World Youth 2025" program, under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI (may God preserve him).
At the conclusion of their work, the participants announced the launch of the "Marrakech Declaration" initiative to prepare an Islamic World Youth Charter. This serves as a foundational step towards formulating a unified youth vision for the Islamic world, embodying the values of solidarity, belonging, and collective responsibility, and expressing the aspirations of rising generations to build a more just and equitable future.
The participants also commended Morocco’s efforts of the North African Kingdom —under its King, government, and people — and appreciated the focus on youth issues and the purposeful dynamism aimed at empowering and establishing their presence in serving the causes of the Islamic nation and all of humanity.
