Non-Aligned Movement summit hails Moroccan king’s efforts to defend Palestinians’ rights

The Heads of State and Government taking part in the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement welcome the political initiatives and humanitarian and social actions undertaken by Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to safeguard the interests and legitimate claims of the Palestinian population.

KAMPALA - The Heads of State and Government taking part in the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (January 19-20 in Kampala), highly praised the central role of the Al-Quds Committee, part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, chaired by King Mohammed VI, in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish a sovereign, independent and viable state with East Al-Quds as its capital, in accordance with the relevant international decisions and the Arab peace plan for the creation of two independent, internationally-recognized states.

In the final declaration adopted by the Heads of State and Government, the Non-Aligned Movement welcomed the political initiatives and humanitarian and social actions undertaken by Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to safeguard the interests and legitimate claims of the Palestinian population.

The Non-Aligned Movement also praised the role played by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Al Sharif Agency, as the Committee's executive arm, in preserving the Holy City's legal status and identity, as well as protecting its places of worship.
