Over one tonne of cocaine seized in Morocco’s Tangier Med port

Moroccan police seize 1.335 tonne of cocaine concealed in a container ship heading from Brazil to the ports of Antwerp in Belgium and Portbury in the UK.

RABAT - Morocco police said they seized on Monday one tonne and 335 kilograms of cocaine concealed in a container ship in Tangier Med Port.

The ship departed from Brazil and was heading to the ports of Antwerp in Belgium and Portbury in the UK, the police said in a statement. 

This security operation is part of the ongoing efforts made by the services of the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) to fight against international cocaine trafficking operations and neutralize the dangers and threats emanating from organized transnational criminal networks, said DGSN in a statement.
