Pompeo, Bourita discuss opportunities to boost cooperation

US Secretary of State, Moroccan counterpart discuss opportunities to expand strong economic, security cooperation between two countries, including shared efforts to end Iran’s support for terrorism and counter its malign regional influence.

WASHINGTON - Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita held Monday a meeting with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in Washington to boost cooperation between the two countries.

Bourita and Pompeo discussed opportunities to expand strong economic and security cooperation between the two countries, including shared efforts to end Iran’s support for terrorism and counter its malign influence in the region.

 

The two top diplomats agreed to hold the next session of the US-Morocco Strategic Dialogue in Washington next year. They also discussed other regional and international issues.

Last week, a delegation of the US Association of Former Members of Congress (USAFMC) led by Randy Neugebauer was on a working visit to Morocco.
