Saudi National Orchestra and Choir to perform Sept. 28 in London

The orchestra seeks to emulate its last year’s staggering performance at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City by showcasing a repertoire of Saudi Arabia’s musical heritage at the historic Westminster Hall.

LONDON - The Saudi National Orchestra and Choir will perform next month at the historic Westminster Hall in London after its successful debut event in New York City a year ago.

The “Marvels of Saudi Orchestra” concert is organized by the Saudi Music Commission and the Saudi Ministry of Culture.

The orchestra is looking forward on September 28 to emulating its last year’s staggering performance at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

The concert will showcase a repertoire of Saudi Arabia’s musical heritage conducted by maestro Riab Ahmed. The UK’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will join the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir to play a blend of Saudi and British music.

Paul Pacifico, CEO of the Saudi Music Commission, said the “Marvels of Saudi Orchestra” concert series exemplifies their commitment to cultural exchange on the world stage.

“Music is unique in its ability to communicate across languages and borders and to help foster mutual understanding and appreciation,” said Pacifico.

The concert will be the fourth stop on the “Marvels of Saudi Orchestra” global tour following previous concerts in Paris, Mexico City and New York City as Saudi Arabia continues to build bridges between cultures with music.

Last year, the concert enjoyed an incredible success at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, highlighting the oil-rich Kindgom’s significant cultural renaissance in the last few years.
