Two Brits subject to international warrants arrested in Morocco

The two British nationals were arrested in Agadir on suspicion of involvement in a case related to intentional homicide and involvement in a case of failure to appear in court and violation of conditional release terms.

AGADIR –  Morocco’s judicial police arrested two British nationals on Saturday in Agadir based on precise information provided by the country’s General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance.

The individuals were the subject of international arrest warrants issued by the judicial authorities of their home country.

A security source reported that the foreign nationals were apprehended during a security operation in the "Anza" neighbourhood of Agadir. Their identification in the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) database revealed that the first individual was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by British judicial authorities on suspicion of involvement in a case related to intentional homicide.

The second individual was the subject of an international search notice based on a Red Notice issued by his country’s judicial authorities for suspected involvement in a case of failure to appear in court and violation of conditional release terms.

The same source indicated that the detained foreigners have been placed under provisional custody pending extradition procedures, while British security authorities have been notified of their arrest to initiate the extradition process.

This arrest falls within the framework of international security cooperation and aligns with the efforts of Moroccan security services to pursue individuals wanted internationally in cases of transnational crime.
