Tangier to hold first edition of Festival des Trois Rives
TANGIER - The Fondation des Cultures du Monde announced that it will be holding the first edition of the Festival des Trois Rives, Tanger Chante le Monde! from 29 May 29 to June 1, 2025.
Tangier, the natural bridge between Africa and Europe, is the stage par excellence for the confluence of seas, continents, seas, continents, peoples, cultures and arts. It is to this city of three shores, this world-city, proud of its ancestral roots, that this multidisciplinary festival wishes to pay tribute to.
The aim of the Festival is to consider the arts as part of Tangier's history, as bridges across centuries, cultures and places, and, like the city itself, to offer itself as a space for transmission, a meeting place for hopes and knowledge.
In keeping with this rich theme, the Festival will be delighted to welcome a host of prestigious national and international artists, including Lebanese diva Jahida Wehbé, Omar Metioui, the eminent composer, oudist and musicologist and musicologist, accompanied by the Al Shustari ensemble of Sufi songs and music; Itaca Band, one of the emblematic groups of the new Catalan music scene, the London Community Gospel Choir and its spiritual songs emanating from the Christian faith of the Afro-American community, Tigrane Kazazian's Tigrane Kazazian's quartet, at the crossroads of jazz and Armenian music, and the beautiful soprano voice of Samira Kadiri and her creation ‘d'Une Rive à l'Autre’.
Every evening, Moroccan and international artists will be performing at the Palais des Arts et de la Culture, one of Tangier's leading cultural venues, for exceptional concerts.
The festival will also feature two concerts, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, in the Mendoubia gardens, a historic symbol of the city, three literary matinees and an afternoon of poetry.
With the support of public institutions and local, regional and national private players, the Festival des Trois Rives - Tanger Chante le Monde! intends to establish itself as a key event on the Moroccan cultural, artistic and intellectual scene.
